SafeFarms WA, established in 1994, is a vital not for profit dedicated to enhancing health and safety in Western Australia's agricultural sector. Rooted in a practical, farmer-focused philosophy, it was founded by farmers for the farming community, emerging as a key source of support and guidance in navigating workplace safety regulations and practices.

FOUNDED BY FARMERS FOR FARMERS

Collaboration is at the heart of SafeFarms WA's approach. By working closely with alliance partners, the organisation ensures that farmers and industry service providers have access to the latest tools and information. This collaborative spirit extends to participation in key industry groups like the Agriculture Industry Safety Group (WA) and Farmsafe Australia, underscoring its commitment to enhancing industry-wide safety and health.

SafeFarms WA also highlights the legal aspects of workplace safety. It promotes understanding and compliance among employers, managers, supervisors, contractors, employees, and farm visitors. Initiatives like the SafeFarms Checklist and Green Card for Ag Safety Induction and Training Program are instrumental in this regard, providing practical methods for all stakeholders to meet their safety obligations.

Central to SafeFarms WA's mission is the development of a robust safety culture in agriculture. The organisation achieves this by disseminating essential and practical information, easy to use tools, and training programs designed to foster safe and efficient farming systems. TECNOLOGY IN THE FIELD

The AgriGuardian SafeFarms WA full Safety Health Wellbeing Management Packages and additional resources, will provide you with a sound framework to support you as you work towards compliance with WHS legislation across all sectors of the agriculture industry.

GRAINS

Safety systems, including inductions for employees and contractors plus health and safety training, are recognised as contributing to industry Bettter Practice and improved production which can lead to increases in business profits. The Australian grain industry is valued at $9 billion. If we increase our health and safety and our production we can increase our profits.

LIVESTOCK

Tragically many incidents causing injuries and fatalities, and near misses,  happen on pastoral and farming properties during mustering and yarding. Often it is when using quad bikes, motorbikes and when aerial mustering. Ensuring that employers, employees, contractors and visitors all understand their own roles and responsibilities for health and safety and that the legislation applies to them too is vital.

DAIRY

There is always work to be done on a dairy farm and often there are times when people and animals come under pressure involving long hours and moving machinery. You have a legal responsibility through health and safety legislation to provide a safe workplace. Be proactive and aim for best practice in your approach to safety, health and wellbeing. 

VEGETABLE / HORTICULTURE

We appreciate the unique freshness of the food and beverages that are produced, including horticulture, vegetables, grapes and so many more unique crops that are grown in Western Australia. Health and safety legislation applies to all regions and growing systems,  including tropical and temperate growing areas, plus irrigated and hydroponic growing systems as well as more traditional methods of production.

SERVICE PROVIDERS
